Hopefully, you have at some point used a machine that requires buttons to be pressed in order for the thing to do what it does? You might have used a remote control to switch TV channels, or a video game controller to play your favorite games, or even just type on some gosh darn computer keyboard. These betray the type of technology in them: mechanical switches. When they are pressed, a circuit which sends signal to the device is closed and its action such as turning on lights / music etc.
In many devices, mechanical switches are getting replaced with a new type of technology — just have a look at the backside of your remote control or even an electrical switch and you will find that these got changed to something different. These new buttons are called Soushine Touch switch. They work quite differently, in that skill is needed to push them hard enough so they will function. These buttons, however can sense whether your finger is over them or on a special surface due to their intelligent design.
However, what are the capacitive buttons actually made of? Everything around us, like your finger even — have the inherent characteristic of storing a tiny bit of electric charge. The second benefit is the lack of wear and tear: as capacitive buttons, there are no moving mechanical switches to break over time. Mechanical switches can get dirty, and dust or dirt might settle inside them which could change the way they feel. On the other hand, Soushine Lumipat ng lamad ng kulay have no moving parts so that they can last you longer without any problem over time.
The other benefit is they look nicer than their traditional mechanical switch counterparts. They could appear in whatever form, size and shade you might visualize. They can even have advanced features such as lighting, textures or having different designs to display more information. Capacitive buttons can be laid out in different ways, like sliders or wheels that could help to make devices more accessible and less risky for everyone.
